Troop Fundraisers

 

The troop holds periodic fundraisers to help fund summer camp, various scouting activities and to purchase troop supplies and equipment.. When fundraisers are scheduled, every member of the troop will be notified, generally by a flier (handout), to ensure maximum participation (Both Youth and Adults).

The total dollars earned per scout will deposited into their Troop Personal Scout account. This is an account set aside for each scout and maintained by the Troop Treasurer. It may be used by that individual scout for anything related in scouting. The scout may use this money to pay for camps and/or equipment, scout uniform, dues or other scouting activity.

Sometimes, fundraisers are conducted for a specific event, troop equipment and/or service project, in which case, this means funds do not go into a personal scout account for participating. This will be noted on a flyer so that everyone is aware that it is a focused fundraiser for an overall Troop purpose. The Troop Committee may also designate a percentage of the fundraiser to be divided between the individual scout and the Troop. Again, This will be noted on the flier so that everyone is aware of the division.

Troop #10 has a rounded troop program that requires funding to be able to provide the very best activities for our youth. We try to minimize the number of fundraisers we do. Here's a snapshot at average annual needs:

* Dues: $10.00 per month ($120.00 per year)
* Summer-camp: $300.00 or more depending on program attending
* Camping Meals: $10.00 - $15.00 per outing ($120.00 - $180.00 per year)
* Council/District Events: $40.00 per year
* Miscellaneous program support and equipment ($50.00 per year)

Your Scouts participation in fundraising events is very necessary. The more money we acquire through fundraising events means less of a financial support from the families. For more information, please contact the Troop Treasurer.
